The GDB lab is equipped for processing oral solid formulations, including mixers, a tablet press machine, an oven, and a lyophilizer. It also features essential pharmaceutical science equipment, such as balance systems, HPLC, a pH meter, and stability chambers.
GDB recognizes that oral formulations for large molecules are highly specialized. Traditional in vitro 250 mL aqueous systems for dissolution and permeation are not applicable, and small animal models are not predictive. Additionally, liquid-based formulations are not suitable. To address these challenges, GDB has established an efficient screening and testing system for prototype solid formulations that closely mimic human applications, utilizing large animal models.
GDB operates an animal facility housing Beagle dogs, conveniently located in Baiyun District. By integrating large animal pharmacokinetic (PK) data with in silico physicochemical simulations and in vitro studies, GDB is able to develop an advanced model-based platform for translating nonclinical findings into clinical applications for these specialized oral formulations of large molecules.
